On Attica’s east coast, for a private competition, it was requested to reimagine how we would bring back to life a 70’s hotel building, taking into consideration today’s needs while maintaining its monumental character. During the competition for the renovation of the 400-bedroom hotel, the participants would present their proposal for one of the hotel’s 40sqm suites.

Our studio’s goal was loud and clear from the moment we saw the location; a space to refresh mind and body that merges modern elements and diverse architectural currents that withstand the concept of time into a new “synthesis”. The perfect get away from the city.

The natural environment, the clear Greek light, the blue of the Aegean Sea, the local vegetation and the rough yet sculptural architecture of the building, defined the design. Vivid colors inspired by nature, earthy materials and various textures create an elegant, yet surprising environment; an exclusive narrative of everyday life at a peaceful destination. The architectural elements, designed with attention to detail, in combination with carefully selected materials would reflect the connection between man, architecture and nature.

The hotel’s key feature was the panoramic views of the Saronic Gulf. The combination of the project’s location with the attention to detail will emphasize the notion of exclusivity. The additions would praise the building’s past.
